Look! Maids! They bring news! Considering that at the current moment roughly 66% of the board is from the UK I thought a thread where we could post and discuss news that's relevant to the UK anime industry.
See any UK anime news worth mentioning? Post it here!
Today's news nugget: Beez are adding Gurren Lagann, Planetes and Code Geass to their budget "Anime Legends" line. [Source]

Oooh, I still don't have Code Geass on DVD, so that'll be good!

Oooh, I still don't have Code Geass on DVD, so that'll be good! Me neither, but this has made me regret splashing out for the individual Gurren Lagann releases. I could have waited a bit longer and saved a little money. That's what I did with series one of Haruhi.

Bad Reaper. Blu-rays are pretty and you should encourage more anime releases upon the medium. But already having one of the two films in the box set doesn't make it more attractive. I'm soon going to make an anime bluray raid, ordering most animes available on bluray in my country.

After many, many years Dragonball Z is finally getting a UK release via Manga entertainment. Very interesting as series by Toei are a bit of a rarity over here due to high licencing costs. Could this pave the way for One Piece? Another Toei animated long running series? Speculation mode - Engaged!
