When given the choice which do you prefer playing and any reasons why?Picked Female, Better third person view, body shape in line with human anatomy (no excessive bulges in arms and necks, chest n ass is fine ) Voice is generally nice to hear they don't "grunt" heavily "HURRRR" / unlocks side quests/alt routes/ agile abilities CLOTHES , Costumes, Accessories are FAR beyond guys.
also can choose Japanese female names in mmos, which look and sound nicer, and i generally see no 1337 in them, e.g. Yok04Ma5t3r. // Side question: Why do people assume when a player picks a female class (and possibly name) this automatically indicates they are female in real life, seem to spot this in a lot of online games (by both genders)

Depends on my mood at the time/depends on the game I'm playing.

If its an MMO then male because like you said a lot of people assume your that gender you play. Answer to you question.. there are a lot of lonely men online >_>
Anything solo I play, I don't really mind as long as the character looks cool :X

I always play as a female if given the option to. When growing up, there weren't a lot of strong female lead characters in games in comparison to the amount of well fleshed out male ones (I know, Lara Croft and Samus Aran, but Lara got ruined for me as soon as I found out she had a real life booth babe model counterpart). So for me, making a kickass girl character was always a big bonus. I was seriously SO happy when Pokemon introduced a playable female trainer. And now, I suppose I stick with it out of habit.

Females all the way. Reasons *thinks* probably cause I enjoy looking on females way more then looking on males. Since you know me for longer by now do I guess that you all can guess the reason for it, right? *smiles*
However: in some games are the customization options for females kinda ... bad. It's hard to create one that has nice looking in these games *sighs*

Boring but I can't lie. Mostly female. There was a time not long ago when I'd feel bad if most of the characters I made ie in an mmo were female but I'm starting to realise it really isn't that odd at all. For me it's not just that it's eyecandy, I genuinely feel I relate to female characters better

Depends on my mood at the time/depends on the game I'm playing. ^This It comes with benefits, like you said it's nicer to look at/listen to. In addition, you may get better treatment (attitude/freebies) from other users b/c most assume you're a she lol. Though if I had to choose, I think I mostly play as male.

I mostly go with male unless I don't have a choice in the matter like for example Dragon Quest (Archer is female). I hate being assumed at ¬_¬
That said and slightly off topic but on fighting games I tend to pick more of the female roster and on SCIV I made a female custom character xD
