Since most of us 3DS owners seem to own Zelda: OoT 3D now I thought I start a thread to discuss game progess, hints and tips, news (possible updates?) and stuff about the game. I just finished the Deku-Tree-Dungeon and left Kokori Village. I'm saving the game for the week, when I'm staying at my parents place to go to work (you know, the stuff which keeps me from hosting the minecraft server). I really had problems to get the damn shield. Somehow I remembered incorrectly from N64 that the shield was in the woods. But I just had to buy it

I like the chap in the Kakariko windmill.

Any idea how to obtain the bag for collecting fairies? I've seen the hint/found a few of those hole/fairy caves.
What are they ultimately for anyway?

Kreuz, there's no bag for collecting them. You just shove them in bottles, and they can be found in... #1: Lon Lon Ranch, after waking up Talon at Hyrule Castle. Pay 10 rupees to play his game and win it, and he gives you a bottle (with free milk!) #2: Kakariko Village. Simple enough; help the woman near the graveyard entrance get her cuccos back (there's 7 in total). Optional: Exit and repeat this mini-game. You'll get 50 rupees each time and there's no time limit. Score! #3: Lake Hylia. This one's actually required for getting into Jabu-Jabu's belly, and it's just in front of the underwater entrance to Zora's Domain. #4: Hyrule Castle (Castle Town). Remember the building just as you go over the drawbridge? Go in there as an adult, and the ghost-thing at the back asks you to collect 10 Big Poes. Do that for him and he hands over the last bottle. You MUST be an adult to do this, and also have access to Epona and the Hero's Bow. As to what they're for, faeries have two purposes; they heal 7 hearts or so if you use them up, or they can revive you if you lose all your hearts. Hope that helps.

Ah okay. I already have (#1) the milk bottle. Just gotta drink it and backtrack to those caves. Thanks! That's very helpful =D.
Is there a maximum amount we can store in the bottles? And do you have a list of the fairy caves?
P.S. Still need to add you on 3DS XD

Fairy fountains and Great Fairy Fountains are different. The former has healing fairies, and the latter boost your powers. To access the Great Fairy fountains, you'll need Zelda's Lullaby and another item or two. [spoiler2=Great Fairy #1] Location: Death Mountain Peak Age: Either Item required: Bombs Reward: Spin Attack charge + magic meter At the top of the peak is a bombable wall. Simply explode it and head through. [/spoiler2] [spoiler2=Great Fairy #2] Location: Death Mountain Crater Age: Adult Item required: Megaton Hammer Reward: Increased magic meter Head into the crater from Darunia's room to see two boulders together blocking a passage. Use the hammer on the boulders to get through. [/spoiler2] [spoiler2=Great Fairy #3] Location: Hyrule Castle Age: Young Item required: Bombs Reward: Din's Fire Go through the gate and keep to the right. Ecplode the boulder and go through the tunnel. [/spoiler2] [spoiler2=Great Fairy #4] Location: Zora's Fountain Age: Young Item required: Bombs Reward: Farore's Wind Go to the island with a single tree and bomb the wall that has a boulder resting on it. [/spoiler2] [spoiler2=Great Fairy #5] Location: Desert Colossus Age: Either Item required: Bombs Reward: Nayru's Love In between two palm trees to the right of the map is a bombable wall. You know what to do by now. [/spoiler2] [spoiler2=Great Fairy #6] Location: Ganon's Castle Age: Adult Item required: Golden Gauntlets Reward: -50% damage received Go to where you'd get Din's Fire as a child and lift the giant obsidian pillar at the back, then head through. [/spoiler2] Hope that helps again Thanks Kreuz for pointing out how to work the spoiler tags x3 If anyone needs to know anything more about Ocarina of Time, post here and I'll get back as soon's I can!
