I guess all of you have heard of the PSN hack-attack. What are your thoughts on this and have you made any experience, e.g. have there been debits from your credit card?
Personally I used a wirecard credit card, which is kind of a virtual prepaid credit card. I haven't used it in a while and there is no money on it, so I don't really care for that. On the hacking attack I think some criminal hackers used that sony-geohotz story to cover up their theft so everyone would blame geohotz or the "legal" hackers.

I think the crackers don't have a hold of our credit details. Plus our security code aren't stored on the Sony database. But just to be on the safe side, I went and cancelled my card anyway. And as precaution, I will switch over to using PSN cards.

I only ever used PSN cards and the password was unique. I'm not worried.
I think you're right about the criminal hackers using the Geohotz thing as cover though, Dan.

Nope nothing from me and I pretty much used my card more so than I used PSN cards. I did opt into getting another card though no big deal for me. Just using my Credit card (on some things) and transfering the money online over to it, so it hasn't fully put me out of business. I find it funny though how everyone was blaming hackers before and now everyone is blaming or throwing blame on Sony for attempting to do the right thing but upset that it got taken down? They get cops, FBI, and other investigators involved and still upset.

Always used PSN cards, since I don't own any credit card, only a debit card and it can't be used on PSN. I wonder what was the secret question I used for the account recovery on PSN, I may have to change that on a few accounts ^^
What really bother me is the whole confusion between hackers (I consider that ALL the programmers are hackers, we all do quick hacks in the code to fix small problems) and pirates. Lots of hackers told Sony (indirectly) that there was major flaws in the PSN security months ago (I follow some of them on twitter). Sony didn't listen, and here we are… I don't put all the blame over Sony, but they had all the cards in their hands to avoid that.

It depends on the outcome of this. Media always overreacts on such stuff. They say credit card informations are stolen and already list with all this data are sold, but in the end nothing happens and the "good" hackers just wanted to show how insecure the system is. If they are "bad" hackers, they'll use that information to get some money. So in the end if money is debited from peoples credit cards it's the bad guys covering up with the news about the geohotz-sony battle and if no damage has been done it was the anonymous "good" guys showing the leak in the system. We can only wait. I think I won't get problems with my credit card data (since it's prepaid and there's no money on it). We can just hope they'll fix all the leaks and we can go back to use PSN again. I've got the Iron Man and Stampede trophy for Yakuza 4 !!!!

The only worse thing about this matter is the fact, that I visited my friend during Easter and we weren't able to play anything we wanted together. . . Only a few (not so good) games which support 2 player at one system. Why had this to hit Easter? We both took free days for our meeting and then was this happening *sighs*
I don't care that someone now knows about my datas *shrugs* Just a few more spammers who now know them.

As a goodwill gesture, PSN are planning on offering 30 days worth of PSN Plus and Qriocity free as well as about $20 free PSN content. www.joystiq.com/2011/05/01/psn-outage-plus-qriocity-free/What do you think? Is that fair for your credit card info and identifiable information being stolen?

Nope. I don't care about PSN+ or money, sincere apologies and promises to be more careful with sensible data would have been enough. And promises to listen to the hackers, they warned month ago that the PSN was not secure…
But Sony don't seem to be able to admit that they did it wrong… so I'm going to vote with my money : PS3 is my last Sony console.

We are living in an era of no-privacy (geotagging, facebook, twitter, game tracking, whatsoever) So I think it's nice to get 20$

Gonna download so much then when PS+ runs out I'm going to rage and then send a very angry email . Personally I really don't care like with Kode I could have gone with the statement but I guess with enough people yelling it would have been the best course of action. I may get Section 8 prejudice then.

Found something intresting in the internet.
Do you know why they got Osama Bin Ladan? He used his real address on PSN *smiles*
But haven't found any information on when "finally" the PSN will work again . . .

But haven't found any information on when "finally" the PSN will work again . . . There was an update from Sony saying that they're "in the last few phases". Tonight or tomorrow I reckon.
