Congrats on the plat Jjos! Regarding how Spec Ops is just an ordinary TPS, that's because the developers intentionally made it mundane. I read an interview about it (if I find the article I'll post it) and the 'decisions' you ultimately make having no impact on the overall story was also a deliberate design choice. There was a reason for it all but I for the life of me can't remember why they made Spec Ops how they did. Personally I thought It was a solid TPS and the writing was grounded but solid which is a far cry from the cheesy dialogue of many JRPG/RPGs and for me it ended up being a refreshing change of pace. I can see your point of view on the violence it tried to portray because we've been desensitized by movies and video games it didn't make an impact on us. So when we finished playing Spec Ops the only reaction it gets out of us is a "meh" and then we move on unphased. Don't get me wrong though I love the cheesy RPGs =P @vash I want to get my trophies done too but I have games like Ninja Gaiden 3, Dead or Alive, MvC3, Ultimate Marvel, SSF4:AE and more to plat T_T I feel like I punish myself for no apparent reason sometimes ¬_¬ Btw Ninja Gaiden 3 is arse don't buy it! Although it's old now so I guess if you didn't buy into it you weren't interested in the first place xD

The first things I heard about Spec Ops (around the time it got released) was stuff like "a total serious game" and "people telling they had fun playing this game should be *insert evil word*", stuff like that. This goes in the direction of the morality choices and stuff that more or less got praised as innovative and long overdue.
Then some weeks ago had my best friend played it. His statement: "I've watched so many movies, I could tell what's happening". And now after I played the game do I need to agree with him. The only thing I haven't figured while playing (and only understood when the ending was showing it) was the thing related to the main character. But then again, it was nothing special cause I just need to switch my TV on and I'll see these things. Have to think at the CoD airport mission - and the solution in the german version that YOU aren't allowed to shoot civilians (Game Over right away) but the mission still inside the game. It forced you to simply follow the AI shooting them - was a big discussion back these days. But now thinking about it, kinda a joke at all *shrugs*
It was challenging/frustrating at some points, playing on both highest difficulties. But that's it.

#69 - Red Dead Redemption
Was only a gap of 3 years and 6 months since I played it the last time regular. It's never wrong to get the one or other older thing out of the way *whistles*

Congrats Jjos!
I did play some RDR and it was a good game but I never finished it I think I've only played 4 or 5 hours... I have no excuse other than I was distracted by other games =P

#70 - Tales of Xillia
Now that's what I call a fine line-up: A 20 year old human-shape spirit; a 15 year old student; a mid 30's shady mercenary; a 12 year old orphan child; a mid 60's tactican; a 15 year old freaky girl. And I hate you, Golden Mage Knight!

Congrats Jjos! Maybe one day I'll get to play a Tales of game You know, basicly a funny story on that one. It was two (and maybe an half) weeks ago when I saw that the game was on discount in the PSN Store. With PS+ discount on top was it on 36 EUR. I then checked Amazon on the same day to compare prices and saw that Amazon had the game just on this day on discount as well for a low 32 EUR. And what happened? I ordered the 100 EUR Collector's Edition two days later out of a mood. Since RPG's are my favorite games was I able to motivate me to actually play the game at all - and once I was finished did I fell back into my motivation-hole not knowing what to do with all my spare time ... And Mr. Vash: just forgot what I wanted to write to you . . . *shakes head* Nevermind I guess . . .

Thanks Vash! Since I have infinite on PC I won't be getting it on console anytime soon although if i pick up PS+ I will be tempted for trophy sake (although I have a ton of annoying trophies to get done). I do want to play me some Metro, which Metro is coming to psn? I'm assuming Last Light. Metro 2033 was awesome!
Ooh nice picking up the limited edition. So are Tales games like Final Fantasy games in that each game has it's own story? The only Tales game I've actually played a bit of was Vesperia and I had fun with the time I had on it.

From what I understand: yes. Tales of Xillia 1 and 2 are related (surprise!). But I can't say for sure since Tales of Xillia is my first Tales of game at all. But having a quick look on Amazon is each Tales of game I find there in a hurry in a completely different world with completely different characters. So the answer has to be "yes", should be like Final Fantasy, storywise.

Thanks for the info Jjos. So many RPGs nowadays to choose from. Remember the old days of the PS3 Jjos? Valkyria Chronicles was one of the only choices xD Although in my eyes VC is still better than a lot of what has been released in recent years.
On a side note that reminded me of how bad the messaging system was back in the day for the PS3, had to quit out of the game to answer and send messages. Oh technology.

I only remember having to quit a game for messaging while playing a PSX game *thinks* That's why I mostly put myself on "absent" together with a comment like "PSX - no messaging" or something.
And well, Valkyria Chronicles is still the best game of all times in my opinion and with that automatically the best PS3 game ever - nothing changed on that matter on my side ;-) But yes, beside of Enchanted Arms (one of the launch titles) did it took a long time before other RPGs got released. Beside of that and VC am I not remembering any before trophy support appeared - and the earliest coming to mind after that must have been Nier *thinks*

Eternal Sonata is one of the PS3 games that released before the Trophy patch and it was awesome, I nearly finished it too but my ps3 died and I lost the saves to all the games I had. I need to find time to play it and finish it.

#71 - GRID 2
&
#72 - Guacamelee!
Now that's a racing game I like. It's not fully simulation but something between simulation and arcade. No tuning, no engine finetuning, just the vehicles with stats and driving patterns (drift, grip, etc.). And the singleplayer was an intresting story idea. Really liked it.
And Mr. Vash is right, Guacamelee! is a hell of a game. For some reason did it remind me on "Hell YEAH!". Dunno why. Even so it actually has way more similarities to Outland and not Hell YEAH! *shrugs* And considering it's a PSN title is the playing time not too shabby if you try to find everything.
