I think it's time for me to introduce myself.
My name is Daniel, but I prefer to be called Dan. I'm 24 years old and I live in Chemnitz in Germany.
I graduated as bachelor of engineering in mechatronics. Now I'm working as service specialist for machine tools in SIEMENS AG.
(no thats not me)
I started gaming at the age of probably 8 when my big brother had a SNES. A cousin of mine had a SEGA Mega Drive and at one point we switched our SNES with the NES of an aquaintance of our parents. We also had a C64 and I remember the days playing Bruce Lee or Impossible Mission. In the process of growing up I also got a Gameboy and my Brother a playstation. The scariest thing ever happening to me was watching my brother play Resident Evil on PS. The part were you encounter the first zombie. I was scared like shit and couldn't sleep that night. Later I a got a N64 as gift for Christmas (or was it birthday? I don't remember). At one time I got a Gameboy Color and sold my normal Gameboy to a friend of mine. My brother and I bought a Playstation 2. When my brother moved out of our parents home I kept the PS2 for myself. I've sent her in to get her mod chipped. When I started my bachelor I bought myself a PS3 and a XBox360 over the time. Oh, I almost forgot. One time my father got his first PC and I used to play Monkey Island and Indiana Jones on that. I tried to play CS over 56k modem, but somehow it didn't work with our provider. As soon as wie got ISDN I was able to, but I really sucked . Later I built up my own PC.
So much for gaming history. Today I live in a flat-sharing community with one of my colleagues from work. I've my PS3, XBox360 , PS2 and N64 lined up next to my TV and a DSi and PSP lying on my coffee table. The PSone was sold. The SNES is lost and I don't know what happend to the C64. My Gameboy Color is stashed away. I got myself a brand new PC a few months ago (with sandy bridge cpu). So I'm pretty much gaming all day. In the beginning I was pretty bad at finishing them. I mostly started a game. Played until a next one came up and played that one. Now I'm trying to complete them at least. I'm not that much of a trophy hunter although I try sometimes.
I've got into anime and manga trough my brother. I read his volumes of Dragon Ball and watched stuff like Bubble Gum Crisis (my first anime) and Plastic Little with him. At one time I had to tape Sailor Moon for him, when it was airing in germany. While I taped that I also watched it. I was torn between liking the show and being ashamed for watching it, pretending I just did it to tape it for my brother. Soon I started collecting my own manga and later also anime. I started with Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki on VHS. Today when I'm not playing games I watch anime or read manga.
So I don't really have any other hobbies. I tried drawing but I always lost interest. I like to do some sports, playing soccer, riding bicycle and working out a bit.
